For

이는

thou,

주께서

Lord,

주님

art good,

선하시며

and ready to forgive;

기꺼이 용서하시며

and plenteous in mercy

풍성한 긍휼을

unto all them

그들 모두에게 베푸시기 때문입니다

that call upon thee.

주를 부르는

Give ear,

귀를 기울이고

O LORD,

오 주님

unto my prayer;

나의 기도에

and attend

주의를 기울이소서

to the voice of my supplications.

내가 간구하는 목소리에

Mercy and truth

긍휼과 진리가

are met together;

함께 만나고

righteousness and peace

의와 화평이

have kissed

입을 맞추었다

each other.

서로

Truth shall spring out

진리가 솟아나고

of the earth;

땅에서

and righteousness shall look down

의는 내려 본다

from heaven.

하늘에서

Not for thy righteousness,

그대의 의로움 때문이 아니며

or for the uprightness of thine heart,

그대 마음의 정직함 때문도 아니니

dost thou go to possess

그대가 가서 소유한 것은

their land:

그들의 땅을

but

오직

for the wickedness of these nations

이 민족들의 사악함 때문에

the LORD thy God doth drive them out

주님이신 그대의 하나님께서 그들을 몰아내신 것입니다

from before thee,

그대 앞에서부터

and that he may perform

그리고 그분께서 실행하시기 위함입니다

the word which the LORD sware

주님께서 맹세하셨던 말씀을

unto thy fathers,

그대의 조상들에게

Abraham,

(곧) 아브라함

Isaac,

and Jacob.
